Is it Dog Friendly? +

Absolutely! Artificial turf is actually great for dogs, especially the ones that like digging up the back yard. When your dog does their business, it drains through the matting (there are drainage holes in the mat) and into the crusher dust/soil as per usual. We have an organic cooling mineral called StopStink that counteracts the ammonia in your dog's urine, and reduces any smells.

Those little doggy-parcels can be scooped straight off the grass and any residual mess hosed away.

Is it Safe? +

Yes! All our grass is non-carcinogenic, lead free and contains no heavy matals.

Is it child friendly? +

Yes! Our grass is soft to the touch and great for kids to crawl around on. It’s also less dirty than your tiles and bricks and softer on their little hands when they fall down. Click here to see some fun play areas we have transformed. https://www.instagram.com/bondigrass/

How long does it take to install? +

Generally most of our installs take around 1-2 days, depending on the current surface and access.

How long does it last? +

All our grass comes with a 7-year guarantee, but it should last way longer than that, around 20 years. About every 18 months it is recommended that you top-up the kiln-dried sand in the grass, this helps protect the matting on the back of the grass from deteriorating in the sun.

How does drainage work? +

Drainage is not a problem. The matting at the back of the grass has drainage holes that lead straight to the crusher dust/soil underneath. If laying on a balcony or courtyard it will drain straight onto the tiles/bricks and run off as per usual.
If an area requires extra drainage we can put some in when laying the grass.

Does the grass get hot in the sun? +

In full sun the grass can heat up a bit as it is made of plastic, however it cools down immediately once in the shade. On hot days you can cool it down by just giving it a quick spray with the hose.

Can I install it straight over my original lawn? +

Bondi Grass cannot be laid straight over an old lawn. In order to get a smooth finish, we need to dig out the old grass, level the area and put down crusher dust. We can then lay the grass on top of that. If you lay straight over old lawn, the old vegetation rots away over time leaving holes and divots in your new artificial turf.

Can I install it straight over tiles on a balcony? +

Yes! Bondi Grass can be laid straight onto tiles or brick with no prep required. We can either supply the grass for DIY, you can buy it from our shop here. Or we can install it, click here www.bondigrass.com.au for a quick quote or call us on 0490487171

Do I need to clean it? +

Typically your grass should stay pretty clean, it’s not dusty like a normal lawn. However, if your grass becomes dirty you can just hose it down and the dirt will drain through the matting.

Can you install Bondi Grass in a windy place? +

Yes! When laying straight onto bricks and tiles, we glue the grass down so it won’t come up in the wind. As well as this the kiln-dried sand that we use on the finished product weighs the grass down and should stop it from lifting. When laying onto soil we use grass pins to hold the grass in place. We have a 7-year guarantee on all our grasses so if you have any issues just give us a call.

How is the grass secured? +

Is it permanent? +

Most of the time yes, we lay the grass to permanently transform your space. However, we also do temporary installs for events, weddings, birthdays or just a temporary fix for a drab area. This just means we don’t glue the grass, but the kiln-dried sand we use weighs the grass down and stops it from lifting.

Barely any! Once in it is completely no fuss. No more mowing! If the grass gets dirty, just hose it down and the dirt will drain through he matting. About once every 18 months we recommend topping up on the kiln-dried sand we use on the finished grass. This helps protect the matting on the back of the grass from deteriorating in the sun and will make it last even longer. All our grass comes with a 7-year guarantee, but it should last way longer than that.

What is the sand for? +

We use a fine kiln-dried sand that sits at the very bottom of the grass. This is used to weigh the grass down and also to protect the matting underneath from the sun, making it last longer. The sand also helps the grass stand upright, so it looks just like a real lawn. We have a 7-year guarantee on all the grass we lay.
